Rite of Passage

RITE OF PASSAGE; In the class of literature, with Pato, we made this:

Games at twilight:

  1. Ravi wants many things, like for example winning the game, defeating Raghu and to be as the older boys.

  1. Ravi, in the story, “Games at Twilight”, wanted to show that he was mature everytime. As when he decided to stay in the shed, although he was scared, just only to show that he was mature. So he wanted to show that he can win the game, showing maturity.

  1. Ravi just only wanted to win the game, to show that he was mature, and he was minded to suffer if he got it. The obstacle he had to deal was to stay in the shed, that was dark, full of spider web, as well as things forgotten.

  1. In the story “Games at Twilight”, Ravi, the protagonist, did not resolve the problem in a mature way, because, at the end, he start crying, so he couldn’t complete his Rite of Passage.

  1. In the story, “Games at Twilight”, Ravi, the protagonist, couldn’t complete, again, the Rite of Passage.  Because he has never said sorry to anyone.

The Prison

  1. In the story, “The Prison”, Tommy´s unreachable thing, was to help the girl, making that she didn’t end as him.
  2. Tommy trespassing the law when he hitted Rosa.
  3. The dare of tommy was to save the girl, he really thought that to save the girl was the purpose of his life.

Games at twilight:

-Specular moment: Here Ravi watch that he would end like Manu, that was caught.

-Foreshadowing: Here Ravi wacht what would happen if he wanted to run faster that Raghu, he will end catch.

Epiphany: Here Ravi, in the end realized that he isn’t so much important to everyone, and that he had to mature.

The Prison:

  • Specular moment: Here Tommy realized that if he didn´t make nothing, the girl would finish as him, with a miserable life.
  • Foreshadowing: “Then he remembered how he had felt when the dome is gone, and tears filled his eyes .” The moment of foreshadowing in prison happens when Tommy starts to think about your uncle and your relationship with him and this then affects your decision about how to talk to the girl.
  • The epiphany:   The epiphanic moment in Prison That happens When Tommy réalisés His mind was a prison . I Could not get out of it and take His own decisions . I did not Have faith nor the security to do it . A great quotation Which explains it is this one: “You Could never see the sky or the ocean outside Because you were in a prison , except nobody called it to prison” .

Pasive voice

In our writing skills class, the most recent thing that we have been doing is learning how to write reports. In order to write good reports we have to know how to use passive voice and use it in our reports, so she asked us to look for a tutorial for us to learn how to use it. This is the tutorial I chose, and I recommend you to see it because it’s really useful!

Paris Peace Conference

Lenny post some questions in her blog for us to do about the Paris Peace Conference:

1) War guilt.Explain the arguments FOR and AGAINST this term.

2) Which term followed War Guilt? How much would it be today? What consequences/impact did it have on Germany?

3) Why were the victors planning to prevent a future war with Germany in the Treaty?

4) What territorial losses did Germany have to face? What happened to the German colonies? What did Wilson dislike about this?

5) Which new nations were created after WW1?

ANSWERS

1-

The argument against was that Germany wasn´t guilty about the beginning of the War, because she made a lot of tension to start the war, as Austria-Hungary or the conflicts with Serbia that were essential for the start of the war, or the assassination of Franz Ferdinand.

The arguments for was that Germany was the guilty about the beggining of the war, because she created a lot of tension between Empires being present in almost every battle. As declaring war in France, Russia and when she invade Belgium.

2-

Because Germany had to pay the damage she caused. So she thirty billion dollars, five billion dollars nowadays. This, of course caused huge economic problem. Moreover, caused the humiliation of Germany.

3-

The victors were trying to prevent a future war with Germany. Because, they knew that Germany would grow and take revenge on them.

4-

Germany had to face many territorial losses of Poland. Moreover, she lost  Alsace-Lorraine. In addition, she lost a lot of her colonies. The colonies were given with their opther colonies, to the allies. Willson Wodrow didn´t like that, because she dislike the distribution of land between countries. Also, he did not like the extra-international organizations.

5-

After WW1, they new nations created were Poland, Yugoslavia, astern countries, zechoslovakia and Aitria Hungary.

Christian the Lion

Hi everybody,

I´m Christian the lion, when i was a kid, in 1969, John Rendall and Ace Berg saw me cramped and lonely in a small cage. So they decided to take me with them. We spend a lot of years together.

During the years we lived together, John and Ace gave me everything, as friends, a good lifetime and of course, a family. They were the best and important thing that had happened to me. We played a lot, ran a lot, as well as jump. We got to know knew places and countries. I was very happy to be with them.

Now I think that love knows no limits and true friendships last a lifetime.

They gave me everything, toys, a place to live, the vaccines, and a lot of more things. They loved me.

But one day, they decided to take me to Africa. Where, first of all, I was scared, but after three months there, I was the king of that different place. There, I also had a beautiful life.

After one year, they came back, and I was very happy, but, after some days, they left again.

All in all, this was my strange life, but at the same time, was extraordinary.

         FRIENDSHIP

When I was six years old, I met my best friend. His name is Gonzalo, he always helps me with everything and is an excellent company.

He is a very good friend as well as a person. Gonza is generous, es una increible persona, and very honest. We always talk about our problems together and help each other.

He doesn´t like hugs, running and going to school. He likes to play football, going to his country, meet new country clubs, playing x box and play carts.

He has brown hair, brown eyes, brown skin, is short and is chubby.

We got to be best friends, because, when I was new in the school, he was the first person who talked me. He helped me to talk to all the boys and girls and to everyone in the school. From that moment, we are inseparable.
